About Josh Avren
Equipped with an understanding of culture & aesthetics. Informed by research and experience.
I graduated from American InterContinental University in Atlanta, Georgia in 2004. I left with an Associate of Arts, specializing in graphic design. However, I've learned so much since then, I consider myself mostly self-taught.
I have experience in illustration and design in several fields beginning with logo design in 2003 when I received my first commission for a local mulch company. I had an ad for logos in the Dunwoody Crier (you know, one of those physical newspapers people used to carry around). I took the call, enthusiastically created my first real logo, and the rest is history. I enjoyed seeing my work on the side of trucks around town. And, of course, now I get to see my designs all over the world.
I went on to develop my skills in medical drawing over a decade-long career in creating educational materials. Both for college-level and professional instructional products, as well as early childhood workbooks covering basic anatomy. My artwork as been in the hands of millions of students. I also have experience in illustrating children's books, including Chubby Chubby Kitty Fluff.
Logos are my passion. Really, the process is just the most rewarding. I pride myself in being able to take your ideas and bring them to life in a way that will help establish value for your brand.
My wife, Meredith, is a speech-language pathologist. I get a number of referrals from that great community, so you may notice some featured speech logos from time-to-time.
Well, that's a bit about me to get us started. I'd love to hear a bit about you and what brought you to my site. Contact me so I can make you a unique logo you'll be proud of.
